Welcome

The Wyndham Brass Quintet first played together in September of 2001. However, its origins can be traced back a couple of years prior to that. Terry Keller and Garth Balint had played together in big bands for years, and they began to talk about a new project somewhat outside their usual musical experiences. One night, after a big band rehearsal they agreed that they would love to start playing some brass quintet music. Phone calls were made, the other members were assembled, and the Wyndham Brass Quintet was born.

Each of the musicians in the WBQ shares a love of brass quintet music. The quintet is very special ensemble to brass players, with its unique sonorous sound and the high level of group awareness that the music demands.

The quintet’s first “gig” was a short performance at the opening reception of the Delta Firehall Gallery. Since then we have played for a variety of functions, and have had many successful concerts and fundraisers for various organizations and friends of the quintet.
